AliExpress Russia doubles number of local sellers in 6 months

MOSCOW, Oct 5 (PRIME) -- AliExpress Russia doubled the number of local sellers to more than 22,000 firms in the last six months, the marketplace said on Monday in a statement.

“By the end of September, more than 22,000 Russian sellers worked with AliExpress with the assortment of more than 3.5 million goods. In comparison to the spring, these indicators doubled -- the platform had more than 10,000 sellers with the assortment of 1.5 million goods,” the company said.

AliExpress Russia General Director Dmitry Sergeyev said that the local sellers and goods are getting a more important place on the electronic platform. “The Chinese assortment is still wider, but local stores create good competition by the delivery deadlines and the service level, including in consulting the client before a sale and after it ,” he said.

Foodstuff and electronics grew the most on the marketplace.

Working in Russia and the CIS, AliExpress Russia is a joint venture of Chinese giant Alibaba Group, the Russian Direct Investment Fund, tech giant Mail.ru Group, and mobile operator MegaFon.
